The Maverick is ideal for groups of friends as well as single travellers. As a single traveler, you can select one of the private rooms (prices are the same for single and double occupancy) or you book a bed in our shared room.

The closest airport is Lisbon International Airport. Several low cost airlines fly to Lisbon for example RyanAir, Easyjet, Germanwings.

We strongly recommend for guests to hire a car or scooter while staying with us. Have you had a look at the location map? The Maverick is located in the countryside, about 10 minutes by car from the next beach.
The transfer to the surf spot is included in the surf classes. We have mountain bikes for our guests to use for free. And of course there are several taxi services that you can use, but there is no service like Uber, transfers must be pre-booked with the companies. Renting a car or scooter gives you more flexibility to go to the beach in your free time, visit cafes and restaurants, get groceries, etc.

How to get from Lisbon Airport to the Maverick?
Your best option is to get a rental car from the airport (see above).

Other options:
We offer airport pick ups (80€ One-Way for 1 person, 100€ for two persons, €15 for each additional person, up to 8 people per van).

Take a taxi/uber to Campo Grande main bus station, from Campo Grande take the Tejo Rapida Azul in direction Peniche and get off in Lourinhã. Alternatively, you can take the Rede Express from Sete Rios bus station to Lourinhã. Both bus stations can also be reached by Metro.

At the time of booking please indicate if you prefer an airport pick up or would like us to pick you up from the bus station in Lourinhã and provide us with your arrival time as soon as possible. Bus pickups have to be booked one day in advance.

I´m a complete surf beginner, is the Maverick suitable for me?
We welcome all surfers from beginners to more advanced surfers. However, if you are a complete beginner we definitely recommend you take part in our surf course.

When is the best time to come surfing?
We are lucky to have a number of surf spots within easy reach of the Maverick, providing good conditions for all levels all year round. Our team of local surfers (30 years of experience) is happy to point you to the best breaks of the day. As a general rule the winter months usually mean stronger waves.
October is the time of the ASP World Tour, held in Peniche, only 15min from the Maverick. From October to March is also the Big Wave Season, when when you can watch the biggest surfable waves of the world in Nazaré.

Can I rent surf equipment or bring my own board?
Included during the surf lessons are a surfboard and wetsuit. We have competitive prices for surf gear hire as well, if you prefer to go surfing by yourself. You will need a car, roof straps are provided by the surf school. Please contact us to be sure if we have equipment for you in stock. Of course you are free to bring your own stuff, we will store it safely for you.

Do I have to bring my own yoga mat?
Quality yoga equipment (mats, props) are provided during the yoga classes, but of course if you feel more comfortable on your own mat, bring it with you to class.

Can I do yoga by myself outside of yoga classes?
The Maverick garden offers several terraces and quiet little places for you to practice your own yoga. Yoga mats can be borrowed at reception. The shala is only accessible during yoga classes.
